The shift into early autumn often brings a renewed sense of purpose and focus. With International Day of Peace and Hispanic Heritage Month beginning in mid-September, it is a time to reflect on how unity and cultural pride strengthen our communities. These observances invite us to embrace dialogue over division, and to celebrate the traditions, resilience, and contributions of those whose voices have too often been marginalized. As new seasons of learning and growth begin, let’s carry forward a spirit of inclusivity—building environments where diversity is not only recognized but truly valued.
September 6 / DEI Workshop (Loftwork)

“Portrait Stand” is an interactive workshop using caricatures as its theme. In teams, participants think of someone they’d like to gift a portrait to and pass along information in a relay format, testing creativity and communication. Designed to embrace “misunderstandings” and “misreadings” across languages and abilities, it fosters respect for diverse individuality and supports creative environments. To mark its first anniversary, “Hataraku Josei Square” will host a commemorative event featuring guest speakers including Shiho Nishioka (Shimizu Corporation), Miki Fujimoto, Haruka Mizuno, and Tokyo Deputy Governor Akiko Matsumoto. Through talk sessions sharing real-life career stories and interactive workshops, the event offers participants a space to reflect on and shape their own approach to work and life. September 16 / Age-Well Conference 2025

In 2025, as the baby boomer generation reaches the age of 75, Japan will enter an unprecedented era of super-aging. The Age-Well Conference, themed “Redefining Aging,” provides a platform to share new values beyond conventional perceptions. Rather than seeing aging as decline, it will be framed as a phase for creating new meaning—an opportunity for growth, learning, and positive living. (Tokyo Midtown)
September 18 / Famione Conference

This year’s theme is “Shall We Reconsider Work-Life Balance Support Now?” A panel of nine companies will discuss topics such as fertility treatment, childcare, and corporate systems. Past conferences have addressed balancing fertility treatment and work, fostering inclusive workplace cultures, and promoting women’s careers, with over 900 participants to date. This event offers companies the chance to learn from case studies and explore practical solutions for work-life support challenges. (Online)
September 19 / Gender Gap Conference (Nikkei BP)

As social perspectives on diversity continue to evolve, companies are once again being called to demonstrate their true commitment to diversity management. This event will highlight the significance of diversity in strengthening Japan’s overall competitiveness, showcasing case studies from pioneering companies that continue their efforts despite challenges. Discussions will also explore the advancement of women leaders in politics and workplace reforms for men that support dual-income and co-parenting models. (Marunouchi Building Hall)
September 27 / DEI Symposium (Chunichi Shimbun)

An event that explores diverse workstyle challenges faced by both companies and individuals through the lens of DE&I. Sessions will include discussions on the experiences of people with Brazilian roots in the workplace, as well as insights from individuals with varied backgrounds. The program will also address challenges in regional cities and propose solutions for more inclusive work environments. (Chunichi Hall)
September 27 / Giraffes Japan Kinki (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry)

As part of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s “GIRAFFES JAPAN” initiative, the women’s entrepreneurship support project “DISCOVER MYSELF” will be held in Moriyama City, Shiga Prefecture. Moriyama, which promotes itself as a “city where entrepreneurs gather,” is gaining attention as a regional hub for nationwide startup support.
