Roundtable

The Learning Cycle roundtable sessions offer a unique opportunity for business leaders to grow their confidence in speaking English while developing their presentation and discussion skills. Customized to meet your organization’s specific needs, these sessions ensure steady improvement through a structured format.

Session Breakdown: A Sample Case

Each session lasts 60 to 90 minutes and includes 2-4 participants from both the client’s team and Learning Cycle. Learning Cycle facilitators may challenge participants to make the debate more engaging, encouraging them to defend their viewpoints and sharpen their argumentation skills. While maintaining a business-like atmosphere, casual conversations and icebreakers are included to reflect the dynamics of international meetings.

Participants will open each session by giving a presentation from an excerpt of their real business slide decks to an audience of Learning Cycle members. This is the perfect opportunity for participants to pitch their project and gain feedback on both the content of the presentation as well as their persuasive speaking abilities. The audience will continuously participate by asking questions and seeking more information from the presenter, ensuring that the participants can develop a well-rounded presentation.

The second half of the roundtable session revolves around a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) topic sourced from the Learning Cycle DEI blog. The author of the chosen article will give a short explanation of the topic and their connection to it, before introducing two discussion questions designed to challenge the participants’ perceptions of these complex issues. A spirited conversation should follow, where all roundtable attendees can share their points of view and teach others about their experiences.
